We wrapped up unit 8 of Everyday Math this week! Our final unit will build on many of the concepts we learned in earlier units including measurement, fractions, place value, counting coins, and geometry.

Maps!
We started our mapping unit this week! We've been reading books and watching videos about how to read maps. Students then got to practice using the cardinal directions to help each other find hidden objects around the classroom.
In writers workshop we are continuing to write poetry. This week we wrote a recess poem together and experimented with moving lines, words, and punctuation around to make the poem more fun to read and listen to.
