April Showers...

We've been studying the water cycle over the past two weeks, and the weather lately has been perfect for it!  Students have been conducting a series of science experiments to better understand evaporation, condensation, and precipitation.  Last week they created a water cycle in a bag and wrote about what they noticed.

This week they made clouds rain!  Students predicted how many drops of water it would take to make their clouds (shaving cream) start raining.  They loved using the pipettes!

In math we are learning about equal shares as a precursor to studying fractions!

Ms. Honan helped the first grade kick off our new writing unit: POETRY!  Students brainstormed poets they knew and wrote a collaborative poem about spring, now hanging in the atrium!
