Happy New Year!

To kick off 2016, we decided to make some new class rules!

We also wrote about our hopes and dreams for the rest of first grade.

In science, we started learning about a new topic: balance and motion!  Our first experiment involved trying to balance an oaktag 'crayfish' on our fingers using clothespins as counterweights. Ask your first grader how they know when something that is balancing is stable!

In writers' workshop, the students are becoming teachers as they write and illustrate how-to books!
